Overview

Red Hand Brewing opened its doors in Lakeville, Massachusetts in 2025—and it didn’t take long for the new brewery to become a local favorite. With a vibrant community mug club, rotating food trucks, an inviting outdoor area filled with lawn games, and a stacked calendar of live entertainment, Red Hand is making its mark in the South Shore craft beer scene.

Brewing on-site, the team behind Red Hand needed to build their operations infrastructure quickly—but smartly. One of their key early requirements was a reliable, high-performance wastewater storage solution that could keep up with their production schedule and stand up to the outdoor New England elements.

What did the client need?

Like all breweries, Red Hand generates wastewater as a byproduct of the brewing process. This includes leftover water from cleaning tanks and equipment, spent grains, and other organic residues. Managing this waste isn’t just an operational necessity—it’s a regulatory and environmental one.

Red Hand needed a tank that could:

  • Safely contain brewing wastewater
  • Comply with relevant tank standards and environmental expectations
  • Be installed outdoors without concern for weather or long-term wear
  • Be easy for their team to monitor and empty as needed

With tight timelines and high expectations, they turned to Mass Tank to find the right fit.

How did Mass Tank help?

The Mass Tank team consulted directly with Red Hand Brewing to understand their brewing volume, site conditions, and maintenance preferences. After a thorough review, we recommended a 1,000 gallon polyethylene tank manufactured by our trusted partner Assmann Corporation of America based in Indiana.

This tank was a perfect fit for the job, featuring:

  • Durable polyethylene construction that resists corrosion and holds up against UV exposure, ideal for outdoor installation
  • Heat trace and insulation, ensuring year-round operation in New England’s variable climate
  • A reverse float level indicator, giving the Red Hand team a visual and reliable way to monitor fill levels and detect potential leaks
  • A custom fitting package that streamlined integration with their existing plumbing and made routine emptying simple and efficient

In terms of compliance and quality, the tank met all relevant certifications, including:

  • ISO Certification
  • NSF Certification
  • UV Stabilization Certification

Customer Outcomes

Red Hand Brewing’s wastewater storage system was installed without a hitch, and their brewing team was up and running in short order. The polyethylene tank not only met their functional needs—it contributed to a smoother, more confident launch of their brewing operations.

With their infrastructure in place, Red Hand turned its focus to crafting great beer. Red Hand Brewing continues to grow its following, thanks to their creative team, welcoming atmosphere, and now—behind the scenes—reliable wastewater storage designed to support them every step of the way.
