Tank & Piping Tightness Testing

Tank & Piping Tightness Testing

Mass Tank Inspection & Services (MTIS) provides inspection services, applying over 50 years of experience, to test and certify tanks, piping and equipment. Thorough evaluation is available for aboveground and underground storage tanks of varying types. Inspection capabilities include non-destructive methods such as eddy current, ground penetrating radar, infrared, inline, CMM, magnetic particle, on stream, liquid penetrant, robotic, ultrasonic, video, visual, and x-ray. MTIS inspects tanks designed to UL, ASME, API, ASTM D-1998, STI SP-001 and AWWA standards, along with tanks built to unspecified standards.

We are equipped to handle risk-based and mechanical-integrity assessments, spill prevention control and countermeasures plans (SPCC), annual valid-use permit inspections, and third-party underground storage tank inspections. A host of additional tank management services are offered as well, including consultation, field service and repair, rework, parts, and the custom designing and manufacturing of tanks and pressure vessels.

MTIS services tanks and repairs piping in use across a spectrum of industries including aerospace, agricultural, automotive, chemical, biopharmaceutical, HVAC, cryogenic, medical, military, nuclear, and petrochemical.

Non-destructive Testing (Ndt)

Mass Tank Inspection & Services (MTIS) provides the highest qualified and fully certified NDT inspectors in the industry to fulfill their clients’ individual specifications. The type of NDT performed on a particular tank may vary from site to site depending on the inspection parameters issued by the tank’s owner/operator. NDT types may also vary depending on tank age, condition, material of construction and environmental conditions at the time of inspection.

MTIS technicians’ capabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Eddy Current
  • Etching, Passivation, Cleaning & Inspection
  • Infrared Technology
  • Liquid Penetrant NDT
  • Magnetic Flux Leakage Scan
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection
  • Radiography / Digital X-Ray
  • Ultrasonics
